ZenZa Pizzeria: Skull Calzones Are Not a Dying Trend

The greatest part about the London food scene is that there are so many little gems scattered around the city. I’ve pretty much made it a bucket list to try and get through the discount sponsors on the card this year. So, to kick it right off was getting to try the fantastic ZenZa Pizzeria, but not just for their amazing vegan pizza (there’s definitely going to be a follow-up post about that soon).

With how subdued Halloween felt this year, I needed something to get me back into the spooky scene for Hallow’s weekend, and oh, did ZenZa deliver! After stalking their food account (so, daily behaviour), I found out they accepted pre-orders for Skull Calzones, or according to ZenZa: NomSkullz.

What on earth is a Skull Calzone? Well, a calzone is baked turnover stuffed with pizza ingredients--basically, this delicious creation that’s a mini-pizza was then shaped into that of a skull.

For some, this part might not be as cool as it was for me, so here’s what the foodie in you wanted to hear. Verdict? The NomSkull was divine. It was cheesy, crunchy, super filling, and they made sure to make it right before I dropped by so it was still hot when I picked it up. I got their normal order of meat, cheese, and sauce, but you can always customize it to your liking. They were extremely flexible and were super nice when my scatterbrain had to change my order three times.

For those who have dietary restrictions, they have that covered, too. There are vegan options, and they were very accommodating for any changes you’d like for your order.

One thing’s for sure, though… ZenZa will have a returning customer all year. Don’t let me be the only one!
