Earlier this month, the Foodies gang headed to Dimi’s Greek house for our first restaurant visit of the year!
Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a friendly and upbeat atmosphere. The modern space splashed with décor of Greek culture provided a unique dining experience, right in the heart of Downtown London. The extensive menu offers many delicious Greek dishes, but the chicken souvlaki proved to be a favourite among the group. The Greek fries (or as our Australian friends like to call it, chips) were also a massive hit.
The group enjoyed friendly conversation as members got the chance to meet some new faces and catch up with old friends. You could tell when the dinner was served, as conversation quickly dropped and we all stuffed our faces with a range of halal, chicken, rice, and traditional tzatziki sauce.
The staff kept things interesting with numerous shows of lighting cheese on fire while serving the flaming cheese dish, Saganaki. Dimi’s proved to be a fantastic new restaurant in London and is definitely on our radar as one we want to come back to (sooner rather than later)!
Classic to the Foodies character, after the massive meals, we weren’t done eating just yet. The team headed down the street to Marble Slab to indulge in some late-night ice cream. As we all piled into the tight shop, we were received by sociable, and slightly overwhelmed, employees. Enthusiastically taking advantage of the two for ten cone deal, orders ranged from mint chocolate chip to strawberry cheesecake. This was the cherry on top of a fun filled Foodies event.
We parted ways with full stomachs and huge smiles, and are already looking forward to our next restaurant visit!
