Hello Foodies, We are on our last stretch of delicious sponsors we were able to visit this year, so look out for more than five new posts in the upcoming few days! As always, we want to thank our sponsor of today, Blackfriars Bistro and Catering, for accommodating our last-minute visit during their spring menu prix fixe.
Blackfriars Bistro and Catering
Blackfriars has an extensive, sophisticated menu. They especially host set three-course package deals almost monthly. We were lucky to be able to try their April Prix Fixe meal. This included an appetizer, a main, and a dessert from their set menu.
Traditional Homestyle Clam Chowder with Newfoundland Savory
Having had clam chowder for the first time meant that we went in not knowing how exactly this would taste. It was creamy, and a light appetizer before hitting the main entree.
Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Arugula, Lemon-Caper Hollandaise on Baby New Potatoe
The generous veggies, sauce, and fresh salmon were a highlight of the day. The grill on the salmon was charred perfectly and we loved the colours!
Chocolate – Strawberry Tiramisu Semifredda
We love a great tiramisu, and even more when you have the freedom to choose what other sauce to put on the dessert. We had both strawberries and chocolate! Great end to the three courses.
Thank you for having us!
We are so grateful to have had such a great opportunity to partner with Blackfriars this year, and even more so to have had a chance to try their wonderful menu items. Thank you for being a wonderful sponsor with Western Foodies!
